Step 1: Register with RobomindAcademy.eu

Surf to robomindacademy.eu and at the right top choose the ‘login’ option. On the next page use either your Microsoft or your Google account to identify yourself. Please do not worry, no personal information is sent to Robomind Academy, just a number uniquely identifying you from now on.

Step 2: Send an Invitation to the administrator of your school

You will now contact the administrator of your school and ask him or her to make you a teacher in the school. To do this you need to send an Invitation to the administrator via email or a chat-app.

To create an Invitation click on the Robomind Academy logo at the left top of the page to go to the front page. There, select the Contacts button at the top left. On the Contact page you see that at the moment you only have one Contact namely 'Me', which is you.

To make your second Contact you need to create an Invitation and send it to the administrator. Press the + button in the Invites pane and give it the name 'Administrator' in the popup. When done press the blue accept button.

There is now an invitation in the Invites pane with the name 'Administrator'. Select it and press the middle clipboard button to copy the Invite-key to the clipboard. You can paste this key into the email you are now going to send to the administrator.

Now wait for a confirmation from your administrator. When you receive that confirmation you can continue.

Step 3: Create Student accounts

When you login to the Robomind Academy again you will notice you are now a Teacher and the initial screen is different. This is your Teacher page where you see the students and a Classroom URL the students can use to start learning in the Academy.

Start with creating accounts for your students.

Press the Add Students button. In the popup window, fill in the names of your students separated by whitespaces and/or commas. Press the blue accept button when you are done. Accounts for your students will be created and your classroom is now populated. You can always add and remove students later. To be very clear, you do not need to create Invites in order to register your students. You only need to create their accounts and they can start working.

Step 4: Your classes first hour with Robomind

On your Teacher page you see a URL which looks like https://robomindacademy.eu/classroom/123456 in the Classroom pane. The number 123456 is the current unique pincode of your classroom. You can change the pincode by pressing the button left to the URL in the Classroom pane. Give the URL to each of your students, together with the name you have given the students account.

Your students can start using Robomind Academy by going to the URL and entering their student name. The classroom pincode together with their name gives them access to their account. If you want more security, you can assign a student-pincode to each student account.

It might be a good idea to create an extra dummy student account and log in as that student using the procedure described above. Start solving some Challenges and experience Robomind Academy as your students will. That way you can answer any question they may have when they start learning how to code.

When your students are busy solving Challenges, you can track their progress by selecting the Progress option at the top right of your Teacher page. On the Progress page you can switch between students and courses to check on their progress. Each storyline in a Course contains a number of bubbles that represent the Challenges in the storyline. The color of a bubble represents the status of that Challenge for that student. See the legend for the exact meaning of each color.
